Bioluminescence
Bioluminescence, is an organism’s ability to produce light by an internal chemical reaction. While there are several examples of this phenomenon on land – in certain types of fungus, bacteria or luminous insects, such as the firefly or what is referred to as Foxfire Bioluminescence in fungus – the ocean harbours many more organisms capable of producing light.
This natural chemical reaction has inspired my work, to the point where this concept is the central theme to my thesis.
One movie I loved when I was younger (and still adore) is The Abyss. Which visually showcases bioluminescent like aliens who reside at the bottom of the ocean.
All that is missing in this equation of my thesis is E.T. or, Alf.
